Work With Me

Work with Me

I believe learning can be a joyful process. I lead outdoor experiences for youth that are rooted in wonder, discovery, and joy. I create educational resources that scaffold learning strategies, critical thinking skills, and foster a growth mindset. I use poetry as a practice in inquiry and self-reflection I offer workshops for educators that build their skills in facilitating student-centered learning experiences.

Curiosity, attention, and awareness are at the foundation of my writing, teaching, and approach to education. In my work, I aim to support learners of all ages to cultivate a deeper relationship with themselves, their communities, and their surroundings.

Contact me

“I have been teaching (and coaching teachers) for many years and have experienced many wonderful teachers. Emilie stood out to me. She was consistently kind, informative, inclusive, and firm with the students. I was immediately impressed with the positive relationships she had already formed with the students who most needed her to, in a very short period of time. This meant that the entire class was fully engaged whenever they were in her presence. She was very skilled at drawing out and listening closely in large group, small group and one-on-one settings, and seemed to genuinely enjoy being with the children.”

“Emilie has a special way of opening up the natural world to others and helping them find magic in the tiniest of details. She leads with gentle strength and wisdom, keen awareness of her students’ needs, and an embodiment of the practices she shares with others. She is a prompter of exploration, revealing only what’s necessary to propel curiosity further. She guides students to take ownership over their learning, and build their own relationship with the natural world. “
